What Is Belotero®?

Belotero® is a lightweight hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that is used to fill moderate wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds.

Am I a Good Candidate for Belotero®?

The best candidates for Belotero® treatments are ages 18 to 65 and want to reduce signs of aging. Belotero® diminishes the appearance of dark undereye hollows, smoker’s lines, marionette lines, parentheses lines, and the nasolabial folds. It can also be used to contour your face and fill in acne scars.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a bleeding disorder, Dr. Foulad may recommend a different treatment.

What Does a Belotero® Procedure Involve?

Belotero® injections are administered at Allen Foulad MD Facial Plastic Surgery. The skin will be cleaned thoroughly and then numbed with a topical anesthetic.

Next, an ultra-thin needle or cannula will be used to deliver Belotero® into the skin through a series of targeted injections. Then they will lightly massage the area to distribute the filler evenly. The treatment can typically be completed in less than one hour.

Belotero® Aftercare

Belotero® treatments require no recovery period or downtime. Possible side effects of Belotero® include minor swelling, bruising, tenderness, and asymmetry. These symptoms should resolve within seven days.

Your provider may suggest that you avoid extreme heat, intense exercise, direct exposure to sunlight, excessive salt consumption, and alcohol for at least 24 hours. You should avoid taking any medications that could encourage bleeding in the treatment area, and you must put on sunscreen whenever you go outside.

The Results of Belotero®

The effects of Belotero® are instantaneous, but it may take one to two weeks before your full results are apparent. At this point, your face should look and feel smooth and rejuvenated. Lines and facial creases should be less pronounced, and other treatment areas such as lips and undereyes should appear more youthful.

Results usually last up to twelve months. Because this filler is lightweight, it can dissipate more quickly in highly mobile areas of your face. Benefits are best maintained with periodic touch-up injections.

How Much Does Belotero® Cost?

The price of a Belotero® procedure depends on several factors, including the amount of filler you need. Most patients require one to two syringes of Belotero® per treatment area, and several treatment areas may be addressed depending on your goals.
